Changes in HR Policy in a dramatically changing Work Environment

Leaders: Heinrich-Jürgen König, PETRAM GmbH and Monika Kern-Brandt, B&H

The objective of a “transformation concept” is to strengthen the company’s competitive ability in a reasonable, measurable and cost-effective timeframe.

The former traditional way of cutting existing employees and then recruiting new staff is no longer effective.

Companies need a long-term plan, set up in conjunction with employee representatives and trade unions. This plan must allow HR changes to be made voluntarily, quickly and positively.

These change programmes focus on qualifications and employees need to be flexible. Redundancies should be avoided.

This concept of “transformation” leads to employees gaining additional qualifications.  They will then be able to stay with the company and undertake new jobs within the organisation.  Replacement will not be necessary.

For those who are unable to meet this challenge, attractive incentives for separation and new career opportunities will be offered.

You will have the opportunity to discuss the ways and means of achieving this in the forum and consider options for your organisation.
